About Me

I am an experienced professional copyeditor, proofreader and writing coach accustomed to working with academics, researchers and students.

As a Canadian living and working in the UK for the past 10 years, I am an English speaker who is equally comfortable with American and British English (and the unique hybridity that Canadians add to the mix). Although I am currently based in Edinburgh, I work with clients all over the world, most of whom have come to me through word-of-mouth referrals. I have extensive experience in working with writers whose first language is not English and recently completed TESL training to improve my ability to explain the intricacies of English grammar.

I worked in higher education for over ten years as a postgraduate and instructor, making me abundantly aware of the requirements of academics, researchers and students. My own research interests lie at the intersection of anthropology and history, with a particular focus on religion and social history in post-colonial South Asia. I also have a working knowledge of Hindi,  Sanskrit (all those diacritical marks) and French, though I am not able to proofread or edit in these languages.
